Cruise Holidays of Kansas City Honored for 15th Straight Year as the “Top Producing Store”

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - (November 2, 2005) - Cruise Holidays, North America’s largest cruise-specialty retail franchise, presented their “2005 Top Producing Store” award to Mark and Mimi Comfort of Cruise Holidays of Kansas City. This award is given each year to the store with the highest sailed revenue during the previous year, from July to June. The Comforts were honored during the 2005 Cruise Holidays Annual Convention which was held aboard Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas, October 16-21, 2005.

“Cruise Holidays of Kansas City has been a consistently dominant business in their community and within our Cruise Holidays Network,” said Peter Thomson, Vice President and COO of Cruise Holidays. “Fifteen straight years as Cruise Holidays’ top producing store is an extraordinary achievement and Mark, Mimi and their staff should be applauded for their hard work and success.”

“This is the most important award we could earn,” said Mark Comfort. “We are tremendously proud that coming from, what’s considered, a smaller market and stacking up to the entire Cruise Holidays network, we have been able to be named the top producing store 15 years in a row.”

The Comforts opened Cruise Holidays of Kansas City, located at 7000 NW Prairie View Rd, in 1988. In addition to earning the “2005 Top Producing Store” award, the Comforts take pride that six of their agents were recognized as recipients of the Outstanding Sales Achievement Award. Those agents are: Patti Edwards, Cassie Johnson, Carol Plummer, Andrea Redding, Deb Smith, and JoAnne Weeks.

“This recognition means a lot to not only us, but to our customers as well,” said Mimi Comfort following the convention. “Our stability and longevity, along with our exceptional service and knowledge, allows our customers to feel confident in booking their cruise vacations with us.”

The Comforts have lived in Kansas City for nearly 30 years. Mark is a native of Blue Springs, MO and Mimi is originally from St. Louis.

Cruise Holidays is the oldest and largest cruise-specialty retail franchise in North America, with stores in both the United States and Canada. Founded in 1984, Cruise Holidays was acquired in 2001 by Carlson Travel Group, Inc., one of the world’s largest and most respected travel franchisers. Carlson Travel Group, Inc. is a subsidiary of Minneapolis-based Carlson Companies, Inc. Brands include: Carlson Wagonlit Travel Associates, Cruise Holidays, Results Travel, SeaMaster Cruises, Carlson Leisure Travel Services, Carlson Vacation & Business Travel and Carlson Destination Marketing Services.
