Lawn Doctor Finds a Part-time Solution for Full-time Entrepreneurship

Mark Wolinski, owner of Lawn Doctor of Saginaw-Birch Run-Frankenmuth and Midland-Bay City, Mich., started on a part-time basis in 2000 and is now in his sixth year as a Lawn Doctor Franchisee. Previously employed as part of a management team at General Motors (GM), Wolinski searched for a franchise opportunity that he could be genuinely interested in, but was apprehensive about leaving the security of his job. Now, Wolinski said, “It was the best decision I could have made, and I would have never gotten ahead financially if I hadn’t had a steady job transitioning to become a franchisee.”

Lawn Doctor provides the support its valuable, new franchisees need to startup their businesses part time. Every eight weeks, one of Lawn Doctor’s knowledgeable field representatives travels to each franchisee’s location for a field visit. During field visits, field representatives make certain all aspects of the business are running efficiently, including how to market to prospective customers and grow a clientele, and how to service lawns, among many other important aspects of being a Lawn Doctor Franchisee. “The support I received was excellent,” Wolinski said. “Lawn Doctor provided the training I needed to startup my franchise, and my field representative still meets with me periodically.”
