GENERAL SCHWARZKOPF SPEAKS TO FRANCHISE OWNERS
MEMPHIS (September 9, 2006) – At the 2006 International Convention for ServiceMaster Clean and Furniture Medic, franchisees had the pleasure of hearing from one of the most distinguished Army Generals of our time, General H. Norman Schwarzkopf .
Throughout his military career, General Schwarzkopf has served as a leader to others, inspiring others to take charge and do what is right. Qualities he will pass on to future generations to come.
General Schwarzkopf also inspired the ServiceMaster Clean and the Furniture Medic franchisees as he spoke on leadership and its importance. He confidently presented what he felt are the keys to great leadership. The pinnacle of his speech came when he stated that, “Leadership is not managing an organization. Organizations are made up of people. Leadership is motivating people. Leadership is about people.” These people he believed not only possessed competence but, moreover were people of character, the same character General Schwarzkopf represented throughout his military career and is still representing today in everything he does to give back to others.
ServiceMaster Clean and Furniture Medic recognize that veterans can be great franchise owners due to their training and ability to work within a proven system. In fact, ServiceMaster Clean and Furniture Medic are members of “VetFran,” a program sponsored the IFA which reaches out to our country’s military and veteran organizations. Nearly 200 participating member companies have agreed to help qualified veterans acquire franchise businesses.
